  1. Planning a Special Event
    Put your thoughts to paper and plan a special event. It might be for your birthday or for someone else. Begin with the subject in the centre, followed by the main areas that you will need to cover for the special event.

    Displayed to the right of the page is an example of a 50th birthday party being planned. The 1st mind map shows the main areas that will need to be covered. The 2nd mind map is the complete plan for the party.

  2. Making Decisions
    Create a mind map about a decision that needs to be made. It might be related to school whereby you are deciding on what subjects to choose from or what college or university to attend to.

  3. Making Notes
    Use a mind map to make notes for an upcoming exam or assessment task. Begin with the topic in the middle and then add major branches that will reflect the areas to be covered.

  4. Brainstorming
    Use a mind map to brainstorm ideas. Choose a topic of interest to you and place it in the centre. Then from the keyword think of as many ideas as you can related to your chosen topic.
